The final Zuri training project required creating a fictional digital product and producing several deliverables, starting with a research plan, and concluding with an optimised final live product. My group, ‘team ninety-seven’ worked on an animation library for beginners called Zing.

Role

UX copywriter and researcher; I was in charge of interface copy, research, and design documentation.

Duration

5 days

Project Overview

For beginners experimenting with and trying to incorporate animation into their designs, it can be overwhelming to get the right no-code animation library that is beginner friendly and easy to navigate.

Beginners want a library that will take away the stress of difficult-to-understand UI and obsolete functionality while allowing them to save, download, and embed in their code, and have an interactive interface that generates the right combination of code to use and show usage examples.

Research Objective

  1. Perform competitive analysis with direct and indirect competitors to understand industry standards
  2. Identify noteworthy user experiences and incorporate them into the UI design
  3. Identify features to avoid and poor user experiences, like confusing navigation and difficult-to-understand user interactions
  4. Understanding the key features beginners need in an animation web library
  5. Identify the pain points of the users when interacting with the animation web library

Problem Statement

The user is a beginner looking to add some animation to bring life to her work, but she can’t save or download an animation because the process is a bit too complex for her to understand, which leaves her frustrated.
